Grand Canyon women's golf head coach
Lauren Giesecke added local product Calynne Rosholt to the roster for the 2024-25 season.
Â
Born in Cedar Park, Texas, Rosholt attended Cactus Shadows High School in Cave Creek, Arizona, and quickly became one of the best high school golfers in the nation upon her arrival to the Grand Canyon State.
Â
Entering her next collegiate season as a senior, Rosholt spent her first three seasons at Arizona State and competed in the 2022 NCAA Championships.
Â
At ASU, Rosholt finished top20 in nine events, including a career-best, third place showing at the Darius Rucker Invitational in 2022. She competed in four events in 2023-24, finishing 22nd at the Match in the Desert with an even-par scorecard at the Superstition Mountain Golf Course. She led the Sun Devils and placed 16th at the NCAA Championships in Scottsdale in 2022 with a 4-over scorecard.
Â
As an amateur, Rosholt saw immediate success by winning the Women's Southern Amateur Championship at age 15 in 2018. She repeated as champion in 2019 and was a semifinalist in 2023. She ended her high school career as the 2020 AIA Division II state champion and was ranked in the top400 among amateur players in the world prior to her arrival at ASU. Her accolades in high school included being selected to the azcentral All-Arizona first team and as a finalist for the state's Female Golfer of the Year.
Â
Rosholt will bring veteran experience to a Lopes squad that will be without veteran players
Constanza Guerrero,
Carly Strole and
Becca Tschetter for the first time since 2020-21 due to graduation. All-WAC first-team honorees
Leighton Shosted and
Ryan Flynn, entering their senior and junior years, respectively, will return with junior
Amelia Curtis and sophomore
Lena Tremouille, who added collegiate competition to their resumes. The Lopes finished third at the WAC Championship this month to cap a season with nine top-three finishes and a Division I-era program record of five first-place outings.
