Nakashima takes WAC weekly honor after strong weekend

Senior looks to lead Lopes against conference foe CBU
Lopes senior Raphaela Nakashima won WAC Women's Swimmer of the Week after having three wins and one third-place finish between the dual meet at Arizona and the home meet against New Mexico State last weekend.The Brazilian won the 200-yard breaststroke (2 minutes, 21.35 seconds), 100 breaststroke (1:03.79) and the 200 medley relay (1:44.25) on Saturday against New Mexico State. Nakashima's leg of the relay was the fastest of the breaststroke legs with a time of 29.07 seconds. On Friday's meet against Arizona, Nakashima went 2:23.53 in the 200 breaststroke to claim third.

Nakashima will look toward Saturday when the Lopes compete against host California Baptist and UC San Diego.
