Final tournament readies GCU before WAC Championship
The Grand Canyon women's golf team is prepped for its final tournament before postseason play begins as it competes in the Bobcat Desert Classic at Golf Club of Estrella in nearby Goodyear, Arizona, from Sunday to Tuesday.

Eleven teams will compete over the three days, with Montana State hosting the tournament. GCU enters Sunday with the highest ranking in the field at No. 94, its highest Golfstat ranking of the season.

GCU has finished in the top three in five of six spring events this season, including a third-place showing at the GCU Invitational and second place in the Red Rocks Invitational, which were in Phoenix and Sedona, respectively. The Bobcat Desert Classic is the third tournament held in Arizona this season for the Lopes.

The Lopes will field the starting five of juniors Constanza Guerrero, Carly Strole and Becca Tschetter, senior Carmen Belmonte and freshman Ryan Flynn. Junior Lani Luafalealo will also compete as an individual. The starting five has competed together in each of the past four tournaments with three top-two individual finishes. Flynn won last week'sWAC Golfer of the Week, becoming the third Lope to earn the weekly honor this season.
