The Grand Canyon track and field team's
Erin Brown won the Western Athletic Conference's men's track athlete of the week award.
Brown ran his first 400-meter race of the outdoor season going 46.46 seconds and breaking a GCU school record. The time puts the Sam Houston transfer as the fastest in the conference and 36
th fastest in the NCAA west region.
Brown, also known as, "The Spider," took second in the conference this year at the WAC Indoor championships in the same event. The junior also runs in the 200m and is often a part of the 4x400 and 4x100 as well.Â
Erin along with multiple teammates will be in action at the Arizona Desert Heat meet this weekend preparing for the WAC Outdoor Championships which will take place May 11-13 in his home state of Texas.
