The Grand Canyon women's golf team resumes its season Monday morning, kicking off the spring slate in the two-day Valley Invitational at the Bakersfield Country Club in Bakersfield, California.

The Lopes are one of 14 teams participating in the 54-hole event, with two rounds on Monday and the final round beginning Tuesday morning. Participating teams include USC, which is ranked 21st in the nation, and Sacramento State, which enters at 63rd. GCU is the fourth-highest ranked team in the field at 122, five spots behind San Francisco.

The tournament is GCU's first since the three-day Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Manoa, O'ahu, Hawaii, on Oct. 24-26. The Lopes placed in the top half in three of four fall tournaments with a fifth-place showing at the Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic.
