GCU heads to Fresno with play beginning Monday

The Grand Canyon men's golf team heads to Fresno, California, for the two-day Nick Watney Invitational hosted by Fresno State. Play begins Monday morning and concludes Tuesday afternoon.

The Lopes are coming off a third-place showing in the Wildcat Invitational on Sept. 12-13 in Manhattan, Kanasa. Two players finished in the top 15, including fifth-year senior Parker Reddig and junior Nicky Kling. Reddig, who competed in his first GCU event earlier this month, shot a three-day total of 3-under-par to tie for sixth place. Kling tied for 11th with even par after three rounds.

Parker and Kling are joined by senior Matthew Braley, sophomore Josh McCabe and freshman Aaron Williams on this week's travel team. Braley and McCabe tied for 27th place in the Wildcat Invitational while Williams will compete for the first time as a Lope.

The invitational will be held at Kings River Country Club with both days beginning at 8:30 a.m.
