Top doubles duo earns WAC weekly honor

Puehse and Strombacha awarded for strong doubles play
Fresh off two wins to start Western Athletic Conference junior Natasha Puehse and sophomore Santa Strombacha were named WAC Doubles Players of the Week.
The GCU duo were awarded their first WAC weekly honor of the season as their two wins at the top doubles position were a vital contribution to a pair of 7-0 GCU wins over Seattle U and Dixie State.
Against the Redhawks, Puehse and Strombacha defeated Jade Quintana and Mireia Fehr at the top position 6-2 as the Lopes took the doubles point in the WAC opener. The following day, the GCU duo defeated Dixie State's Juliana Honczaruk and Rachel Mellor 6-1 to wrap up the first weekend of WAC play.
With the two wins Puehse and Strombacha extended their winning streak to seven matches and now own a 10-2 overall record this season.
The Lopes will be back in action next week at home when they host a WAC pod and face Chicago State and New Mexico State on April 14-16.
