Santa Strombacha was named WAC Singles Player of the Week while seniors
Fabienne Schmidt and
Autum Prudhomme took home the doubles honors.

Strombacha earned her second weekly singles honor of the season with two wins against conference opponents at home. Her weekend started with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Chicago State's Diana Borodina at Court 3 and she clinched the WAC regular-season title with a win over NMSU's Natsuki Nishimura two days later. The Berlin, Germany, native finished the regular season with a 4-0 record in WAC play.

Schmidt and Prudhomme also earned their second weekly WAC honor, capping off their regular season with two more WAC wins. At Court 2, the GCU duo was perfect against Chicago State to win 6-0 and clinched the doubles point against New Mexico State with a 6-2 win. Overall, Prudhomme and Schmidt finished tied for the team lead with 10 wins that featured a 3-1 mark in WAC play.

The Lopes will head to Beaumont, Texas, on Wednesday for the WAC Tournament. GCU is the defending champion and the No. 1 overall seed heading into the weekend. The Lopes will face No. 8 seed Abilene Christian in the first round on Friday at 10 a.m. (Phoenix time).
