The Grand Canyon men's diving team competed against Arizona State on Wednesday morning at Mona Plummer Aquatic Center in Tempe.
"I thought the men did well today with Isaac (Poole) leading with a win on platform," GCU head coach
Hunter Shafer said. "He was very close to the GCU all-time record, which he holds."
Poole, a sophomore, highlighted the meet with a win on platform against the Sun Devils' Zachary Lundgren, who was an NCAA qualifier on platform last season. The Shoreline, Washington, native totaled 328.95 points for the Lopes. Poole also finished second on the 3-meter springboard with a score of 297.53 points.
GCU classmate
Nicholas Gunn totaled 281.93 on the tower, nearly reaching the NCAA zone qualifying score.
"Nick had a solid set of dives, and I think he's peaking in all events headed into WAC," Shafer said.
Up next, the Lopes will head to Houston for the WAC Championships on Feb. 23-26.
