THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- FIRST SPRING TOURNAMENT:Â The Lopes will compete in their first tournament of the spring season. GCU will play in seven tournaments this spring before heading to the WAC Championship on April 18-20.
- TRAVELING FIVE:  GCU travels three seniors and two sophomores for the Valley Invitational. Seniors Siripatsorn Patchana, Payton Fehringer and Alexis Linam look to lead the Lopes to a top finish in the 12-team tournament. Sophomores Carly Strole and Constanza Guerrero will also make the trip.
- TWO WAC SCHOOLS: The Lopes will face off with WAC opponents California Baptist and Utah Valley in Bakersfield.
VALLEY INVITATIONAL
The tournament field includes hosts Cal Poly and Bakersfield, along with California Baptist, CSU Northridge, Hawai'i, Northern Arizona, San Francisco, Santa Clara, UC Davis and UC Irvine. The tournament consists of 54 holes with two rounds on Monday and the final round on Tuesday. Both days will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. (Phoenix time). The Bakersfield Country Club course is a par 72 with 6,000 yards.LAST TIME OUTÂ
The Lopes finished fifth out of 18 teams in their final fall tournament at the Clash at Boulder Creek in October. Three Lopes tied for 17th in at The Clash, finishing 5 over par after three rounds. Guerrero was the most impressive in the final round of play, as she shot a team-best, 2-under-par 70. She played the final eight holes at 3 under par and sank six birdies in her final round. Luafalealo and Linam tied with Guerrero with at 5 over par.WHAT'S NEXT
The Lopes will hit the road for The Show, hosted by Furman, on Feb. 14-15 at Spanish Trail Country Club in Las Vegas. Â ÂÂ
