Jack Armstrong claimed his fifth WAC Men's Swimmer of the Week after collecting two wins and a lifetime best at UNLV's First Chance meet this weekend. He also collected the award last week in the Lopes' 150-147 win over the Rebels.Â

Armstrong, a sophomore from Manvel, Texas, recorded a lifetime best along with the third-fastest time in the WAC in the 100-yard butterfly (47.59). He also earned the win in the 100 freestyle with a time of 43.38. Armstrong finished runner-up in the 50 freestyle with a time of 19.81.Â
Armstrong's time in the 50 freestyle of 19.30 seconds ranks as the fastest time in the WAC and 17th in the NCAA.

The Lopes will head to Houston next week for the WAC Championships on Feb. 23-26.
