
Grand Canyon sophomore
Jack Armstrong won his third WAC Swimmer of the Week this season after his dominating performance against Concordia Irvine on Saturday. His previous honors came on Oct. 26 and Dec. 7.
In the men's 169-79 victory over Concordia Irvine, Armstrong claimed three individual victories. The Manvel, Texas, native won the 50-yard freestyle (19.95), the 100 freestyle (43.75) and the 100 butterfly (49.18). His time of 43.75 in the 100 butterfly set a new pool record at GCU's home, the Fr. Edward A. Reese Aquatic Center.
He also contributed to another Lopes win after he swam the butterfly leg (48.62) of the 400 medley relay (3:25.45) against the Eagles.
Armstrong and the Lopes will head to Riverside, California, on Saturday for a conference matchup against California Baptist.
