The Grand Canyon tennis team filled out its coaching staff with former GCU tennis star
Tatum Prudhomme returning to the program as assistant coach on Wednesday.
Â

Prudhomme joins her father, Lopes head coach
Greg Prudhomme, and fellow associate head coach
Spencer Hing on the full-time staff and will work primarily with the women's tennis team in the upcoming season.
Â
"We are very excited to have Tatum joining our tennis program in a full-time position,"
Greg Prudhomme said. "It's a huge benefit when we can bring a person on the staff who has been through the program, as she already understands and appreciates the culture of the university, the GCU athletic department and the tennis team. What's more is that she came through the program very successfully as a player, on and off the court, and as a coach when she served as a graduate assistant."
Â
Prudhomme joins GCU after spending six previous seasons with the women's tennis program, including four as a top player from 2014-17 and two as a graduate assistant from 2017-19.
Â
As a player, Prudhomme earned All-WAC first-team honors in singles and doubles three times each and helped lead the Lopes to WAC regular-season titles in 2015 and 2017. She finished second in the GCU Division I-era record books for career singles wins (43) and doubles wins (45).
Â
As a graduate assistant, Prudhomme worked primarily with the women's team when GCU won the 2019 regular-season conference title and made back-to-back appearances in the WAC Tournament championship match. In those two seasons, Prudhomme helped Lopes players earn eight All-WAC first-team honors and four second-team honors.
Â
Prudhomme is an Elite Certified Tennis Coach through the U.S. Professional Tennis Association. She graduated from GCU with a bachelor's degree with honors and held a 4.0 GPA in obtaining her master's degree.
