Shafer announces Erickson signing

Lopes add roster depth with Louisville transfer
The Grand Canyon women's diving team added Abigail Erickson for the upcoming season. Erickson comes to GCU after two solid seasons at Louisville.
"We are excited to add Abigail this upcoming fall," GCU head diving coach Hunter Shafer said. "She is a nice addition and will be competitive in all three events at the conference championship. This past year, she was an NCAA Zone finalist on platform."
Over the past two seasons, Erickson was a member of the Louisville diving team. Last season, she placed 14th on the platform board at the NCAA Zone C Championships with a final score of 449.60. At the ACC Championship, Erickson finished 20th on the 10-meter board, 23rd on the 3-meter and 33rd on the 1-meter.
The Highlands Ranch, Colorado, native also earned an All-ACC Academic Team spot and a CSCAA Scholar All-America award.
Erickson captained at Mile High Dive Club and was a finalist on all three boards at the 2019 USA Diving Zone E Championships before going on to qualify for the semifinal on the platform board at Junior Nationals.
