Ethan Harris was named WAC Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for the second week in a row. The honor was based off his Saturday performance at the Desert Heat Classic in Tucson, Arizona.
Not only did Harris improve his school record with a 2.26-meter high jump, but the leap ranks first in the NCAA West Region, third in the country and ninth in the world for this year. Harris also ranks atop the WAC by 9 inches. With his 7-foot, 5-inch jump, he also qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials.
Harris and the rest of the Lopes' track and field team will travel to Edinburg, Texas, to compete at the WAC Outdoor Championships on May 13-15.
