The Grand Canyon men's golf team heads to the Bandon Dunes Championship at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Oregon this weekend.
GCU will square off in a field of 15 teams at the links course located alongside the Pacific Ocean. The tournament will consist of 54 holes, with 18 holes being played per day, beginning on Sunday. Joining GCU in the field is host Idaho, Stanford, Oregon State, Oregon, Washington State, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Fresno State, Utah, Boise State, Utah Valley, Seattle U, Northern Colorado and Long Beach State.
The Lopes are coming off a fifth-place finish at The Joust, hosted by California Baptist. Senior Trevor Lampson led the Lopes, finishing in seventh place. He carded rounds of 72, 73 and 72. Lampson finished as the top WAC golfer in the field, which included Utah Valley and California Baptist.
Freshman Craig Passmore had the single lowest round for the Lopes with a final-round of 2 under par.
After this week, the Lopes will host the GCU Invitational on March 15-16 at GCU Championship Golf Course.
