The WAC Swimming and Diving Championships continue this week with the men's swimming championships from Wednesday to Saturday in Las Vegas and the diving championships on Thursday through Saturday in Flagstaff, Arizona. Last week, the WAC held the women's swimming championships in St. George, Utah.
The scoring for the swimming and diving championships are cumulative. After the women's swimming events, defending champion Northern Arizona leads with 572.5 points. New Mexico State (564 points), Northern Colorado (497.5), Grand Canyon (444), California Baptist (367), Idaho (335), Dixie State (250) and Seattle U (165) complete the standings entering the diving portion of the championship on Thursday.
At the 2020 WAC Championships, the Lopes men finished third with 559.5 points. Air Force won the title with 864 points, followed by Air Force with 692 points.
GCU juniors
Florent Janin and
Adrian Curbelo enter the championships owning the top times in the WAC. Janin's 50-yard freestyle time of 20.0 seconds is the top mark in the conference, while Curbelo's 100 butterfly time of 47.76 is also a conference best.

The diving schedule at NAU includes 10:30 a.m. preliminaries and 6:30 p.m. finals on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The swimming sessions include a noon (Phoenix time) preliminaries and a 7 p.m. finals session at UNLV.
Finals will take place on Wednesday (200 medley relay, 800 freestyle relay), Thursday (200 freestyle relay, 500 freestyle, 200 individual medley, 50 freestyle), Friday (400 individual medley, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, 400 medley relay) and Saturday (1,650 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, 400 freestyle relay).
