Fall season continues for GCU in California
The Grand Canyon women's tennis team continues its fall season this weekend at the Beach Tennis Tournament, hosted by Long Beach State.

Running from Oct. 8-10, the Lopes will compete against athletes from CSUN, Cal State Fullerton, Colorado State, UC Irvine and host Long Beach State.

The Lopes will be spread out between three singles and doubles flights over the three-day event. A trio of Lopes — Natasha Puehse, Fabienne Schmidt and Santa Strombacha — will compete in the top singles flight while Valentina Del Marco and Autum Prudhomme will play in the second flight. Taylor Andersen and Aline Buhr will round out singles in the third flight.

Andersen is coming off an impressive weekend at the San Diego State Fall Classic where she won a pair of singles matches and advanced to the championship match in the fifth flight. In the top draw, Puehse took third place with a 7-6, 7-5 win over SDSU's Alicia Melosch.

In doubles this weekend, Puehse and Strombacha will team up for the second straight event in the top flight after winning two matches last weekend. In the second flight, Prudhomme and Schmidt will team up for the first time while Andersen and Del Marco compete together in the third flight.
