Lopes duo returns to action in Flagstaff
The Grand Canyon diving team sent a pair of competitors to take on Northern Arizona in Flagstaff on Saturday.
Senior Tasmin Stewart and freshman Lizzy Mcknight were in action for the Lopes from the 1-meter and 3-meter boards.
"Tasmin and Lizzy dove well," said head diving coach Hunter Shafer. "Tasmin did some of her best diving in both events. Lizzy stepped up and did some big dives that the women at NCAA are doing."
From the 1-meter board, Mcknight led the Lopes with a fifth-place finish. The freshman recorded a 250.43 score. Stewart finished in sixth place with a 218.85 total.
From the 3-meter board, Mcknight finished in fourth place with a total of 248.93, while Stewart finished in fifth place with a 247.80 score.
GCU is back in action on Jan. 30 at California Baptist.
