The Grand Canyon women's swimming team hosts Dixie State on Saturday at the Fr Edward A. Reese Aquatic Center. The dual meet against the Trailblazers will be GCU's third meet of the season and first of the 2021 calendar year.
The Lopes opened the season at Arizona in Tucson on Dec. 3-4. GCU later earned a 145-145 tie against California Baptist with only eight Lopes in action last month.
Dixie State broke two school records in an opening meet at BYU in November. The Trailblazers battle with NAU on Friday in Flagstaff, before making the trip to Phoenix on Saturday.
GCU is led by two-time WAC Swimmer of the Week honoree
Emily Muteti. She holds the top WAC time in the 100 butterfly at 55.44 seconds.
The 100 breaststroke will highlight the individual events as Dixie State's Haley Altman has the WAC's top time of 1:01.97. Muteti sports the next best time in the event at 1:03.65.
