The Grand Canyon men's swimming and diving team hosts California Baptist on Saturday at the Fr. Edward A. Reese Aquatic Center.
GCU and CBU met in January, when the Lopes defeated the Lancers 200-100 in Phoenix.
The Lopes won the opening event, the 200-yard medley relay, and swept the 1,650 freestyle, 500 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 200 backstroke. GCU also won the 1-and 3-meter dive events.
Last week, the Lopes were led by junior
Florent Janin at Arizona. The WAC Men's Swimmer of the week won the 50 freestyle with the top time in the conference and 51st best time in the nation.
He added two more top-four finishes during the meet, placing second in the 200 freestyle (1 minute, 38.27 seconds) and fourth in the 100 freestyle (44.31) with both the being fastest times among WAC swimmers thus far. Janin also anchored GCU's 200 freestyle relay team, leading the Lopes to a second-place finish (1:21.26).
