DENVER –
Alexis Linam of the Grand Canyon women's golf team has been named the Western Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week, announced by the WAC office.
Linam completed a bogey-free 65 during the final round of the Fresno State Classic. The round was also a school record, breaking the previous mark of 66, held by Charlotte Jaengkit.
The sophomore from Phoenix nearly won the event, finishing runner-up by one shot despite starting the day in 10
th place.
As a team, GCU fired a 54-hole score of 867, which goes down as the second-best tournament score in school history.
GCU is back in action at the WAC Championship on April 18-20 in Washington.
