ELK GROVE, Calif. – With a few holes remaining in the second round, the Sacramento State Invitational was suspended due to darkness with the Grand Canyon men's golf team sitting in a fourth-place tie with three holes to go Monday.
After ending the first round in seventh place, the Lopes moved up three spots into a tie for fourth-place with Pacific.
GCU is the two-time defending champion of the Sacramento State Invitational and will face an uphill climb in its bid to three-peat.
CSU Fullerton leads the tournament at 18 under par, followed by Long Beach State (12 under), Weber State (8 under) and GCU (4 under).
Adam Veenstra, playing as an individual for the Lopes, is working on his second under-par round of the tournament after an opening with a 69. Veenstra is in sixth place at 5 under.

th place to pace GCU's team effort.
The conclusion of the second round will resume at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, with the final round to follow.
