The Grand Canyon women's golf team heads to the Fresno State Classic on Monday and Tuesday at Copper River Country Club in Fresno, Calif.
GCU is coming off an eighth-place finish last week at the Hawkeye-El Tigre Invitational in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Sophomore
Siripatsorn Patchana leads the Lopes with a 74.64 stroke average and four top-10 finishes. Junior
Courtney Vogel is next on the team, averaging 74.76 strokes per round.
The Fresno State Classic will consist of 14 teams. GCU is joined by host Fresno State, CSU Northridge, Montana State, Nevada, Portland State, Santa Clara, South Dakota, Southern Utah, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, Utah Valley and UTEP.
The 2018 event was won by Sacramento State with a score of 865. The medalist co-champions were UC Irvine's Avery French and Indiana's Erin Harper.
After this week, the Lopes will aim to defend their WAC Championship at the conference tournament, which will be held April 18-20 at Oakbrook Golf Club in Lakewood, Wash.
