Alexa Hokanson and senior
Chris Linnin Jr. broke GCU records on Saturday at the Aztec Invitational to keep the trend alive for nearly a year.
Hokanson, who broke the GCU record in the 800-meter run last week, broke the 800 record again with the nation's eighth-fastest time and the West Region's sixth-fastest time.
The sophomore ran the two full laps in 2 minutes and 7.61 seconds at San Diego State to break her previous record.
Linnin Jr., broke the high jump indoor record over two straight weeks in January and matched that jump with an outdoor record leap of 2.10 meters on Saturday.
Linnin's 2.10-meter jump ties him for 16th in the country and seventh in the West region. The previous record was 2.06 meters, set in 2015 by
Josh Ralston.

Trey Johnson and junior
Paige Hildebrandt picked up event wins in the long jump and 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Johnson's 7.45-meter effort in the long jump ranks eighth in the country and seventh in the West.
Hildebrandt won the 3,000 steeplechase on Friday night by over 13 seconds with sophomore
Cheyenne Walden finishing second.
Senior
Sarah Root backed her WAC-leading 100-meter hurdles time by improving her time by more than three-fourths of a second. Root's 14.04 time in the high hurdles kept her first in the WAC and ranks 24th in the West.
Junior
Symone Wright-Flowers ran a big personal record in the 100 hurdles as well, running the second-fastest time in the conference at 14.54. The junior also set a personal record in the 400-meter hurdles.
Junior
Elizabeth Balsan ran GCU's third-fastest 1,500-meter time at 4:39.03.
Senior
Daniel Flores ran the conference's top time by breaking his season record in the 1,500.
Freshman
Landon Rast ran 3:55.33, his second straight 3:55 time in the 1,500.
