GCU to play in 3-day Hawkeye El Tigre Invitational
The Grand Canyon women's golf team heads to the Hawkeye El Tigre Invitational this week to battle a top-notch field at the El Tigre Golf Club in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
The tournament's 12 teams include GCU (No. 117 Golfstat ranking), Iowa (134), Arizona (10) , BYU (85), Colorado State (87), Fresno State (100), Idaho (84), Kennesaw State (35), Troy (123), Kansas City (192), Chattanooga (92) and Tennessee (37). Arizona won the event last season, when the Lopes tied for 10th place with then-senior Deanna Salvatori leading them by tying for 15th place individually.
Tee times will take place between 11 a.m. and 12:50 p.m. (Phoenix time).
After this week, GCU will have one more tournament before the WAC Championships on April 18-20 in Lakewood, Wash. On April 1-2, the Lopes travel to the Fresno State Classic in California.
