Trey Johnson won his second WAC Field Athlete of the Week award in as many weeks on Tuesday.
The long jumper has competed in two meets for the Lopes and won WAC honors for each outing. Johnson, a Tolleson, Ariz., native broke his event's school record on Friday with a 7.76-meter jump that ranks first in the WAC and ties for 17th in the country.

Johnson set a personal record on his second jump with a 7.52-meter jump before using his third jump to win the event and set a new GCU mark.

GCU student-athletes have won WAC awards for three consecutive weeks.

The Lopes have a split squad weekend on Friday and Saturday, when the bulk of the team will go to New Mexico for the Don Kirby Invitational and the distance crew will attend the Husky Classic at Washington.
