LIHUE, Hawaii – The Grand Canyon men's golf team finished the John A. Burns Intercollegiate with an 11
th-place finish on Saturday afternoon at Wailua Golf Course.
GCU (864 team score) was led by
Trevor Lampson with a 22
nd-place finish. Lampson closed the tournament with a final-round 69 (-3). He finished with a 213 total.
Jake Chanen was GCU's next finisher with three rounds of par or better. Chanen fired rounds of 70, 72, 72, good for a 214 total and 30th-place finish.
Matthew Braley finished in 43
rd (217), while
Filip Lundell and
Michael Salazar each finished with a 223 score.
No. 11 Arizona State won the tournament with an 840 (-24) team score. No. 20 Texas A&M (843) finished runner-up, followed by No. 2 Duke (845), No. 32 North Carolina (846) and No. 33 UNLV (851).
The individual winner went to Peter Kuest of BYU with a score of 206 (-10).
GCU is back in action on March 4-5 at the Sacramento State Invitational at Valley Hi Country Club.
