After breaking the school record in the pole vault Friday night, Grand Canyon sophomore
Madelyn Lundberg earned the WAC Field Athlete of the Week award.
Lundberg jumped 4.07 meters at the NAU Tune Up meet, breaking the school record by 0.05 meters (about 2 inches).Â
Lundberg, who is ranked first in the WAC, is also tied for 49th in the country. The Phoenix native finished second at the NAU Tune Up in a field of 25 competitors.Â
The sophomore has led the WAC in her event for three weeks and is seeking GCU's fifth straight conference women's pole vault title.Â
Lundberg and the women's vaulters will jump on Saturday at the WAC Championships in Nampa, Idaho.Â
