FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Sophomore
Madelyn Lundberg broke the Grand Canyon school record in the pole vault Friday night at the NAU Tune Up, the Lopes' final meet before next weekend's WAC Indoor Championships.
Lundberg tied the school record in the pole vault two weeks ago with a 4.02-meter jump when GCU previously visited Flagstaff. On Friday, she broke the record with a 4.07-meter jump to tie for the 45th-best mark in the country.
Freshmen throwers
Max Myers and
Jorden Okyere each had personal record marks in the shot put. Myers threw 15.47 meters and stays ranked fourth in the WAC. Okyere threw 15.18 meters and jumped into the top eight, ranking him fifth going into the conference championships.
Senior
Courtney Logan also posted a personal record in the weight throw with a mark of 17.03 meters. Logan ranks third in the conference with her throw.
The Lopes head to Nampa, Idaho, to compete in the WAC Indoor Championships on Feb. 22-23.
