FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Redshirt freshman
Trey Johnson had a memorable meet last week and topped that performance Friday night with a school record in the long jump.
Johnson jumped 7.76 meters on the first day of the Northern Arizona Mountain T's Invite, setting a GCU record that also ties him for the 14th-best jump in the nation this season.
Sophomore pole vaulter
Madelyn Lundberg also tied a school record Friday with a pole vault of 4.02 meters. Lundberg cleared 3.82 meters on her third and final attempt before setting a personal record of 3.92 meters on her first jump at that height. She then tied the school record on her second jump at 4.02 meters.
Johnson and Lundberg hold the top WAC marks for their respective events following their Friday night performances.

Niki Xydona and sophomore
Symone Wright-Flowers started the day with a one-two finish in the pentathlon. Xydona scored 3,308 points, which ranks first in the WAC this season, while Wright-Flowers scored 3,222 points to rank second in the WAC.
The Lopes placed first, third and fifth in the men's long jump. Johnson won the event for the second consecutive week, while senior
Adrian King finished third with a 7.23-meter jump and
Guillermo Matesanz jumped 6.86 meters to finish fifth.
The heptathlon continues Saturday morning before the rest of the events start at 11 a.m. with the men's weight throw.
