Siripatsorn Patchana was named the WAC Women's Golfer of the Month for September.
Patchana, a junior from Bangkok, Thailand, opened the season with a pair of top-15 finishes in strong fields. The 2018 WAC Freshman of the Year tied for 10th place at the USA Intercollegiate in Alabama to open the season. She followed that up with a 146 (2 over par) to finish 12th during the stroke-play portion of the prestigious East-West Match Play Challenge, which was hosted by Wisconsin. During the match-play portion, Patchana breezed by her opponent, 6 up, to help the Lopes capture a 3-2 victory over Kansas State.
Her opening-month stroke average of 72.4 ranks 216th in the nation, according to
Golfweek. The mark is tops in the WAC.
GCU is back in action on Oct. 14-15 at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational in Lakewood, Wash.
