Duo earns WAC monthly honor

Prudhomme, Morel start the fall 3-0 in doubles
.Grand Canyon doubles partners Autum Prudhomme and Celia Morel were named the WAC Players of the Month in doubles for September.

The duo began the fall season with a doubles championship at the SDSU Fall Classic last week at San Diego State. Competing in the third doubles flight, Prudhomme and Morel started with a 6-3 win over Stella Carra and Hanna Bilnouskaya of McNeese State. After defeating a Cal State Northridge pair 6-2 in the semifinals, the GCU pair defeated UTEP's Eve Daniels and Lina Sachica 6-4 to win the flight.

Prudhomme, a junior, and Morel, a senior, are picking up right where they left off from last season, when they earned All-WAC first-team honors and ended the season on an 11-match win streak.

The Lopes will be back in action at the ITA Southwest Regional in San Diego from Oct. 17-21.
