ROUND 1 RESULTS
SAN FRANCISCO – The Grand Canyon women's golf team completed the first day of the NCAA San Francisco Regional, hosted by Stanford at TPC Harding Park.
The Lopes shot a team score of 306 (+18) at the historic course which will host the 2020 PGA Championship and the 2025 Presidents Cup. Seeded 16
th in the 18-team regional, the Lopes finished the day in 17
th place, just one shot behind Princeton and two behind Long Beach State.
Siripatsorn Patchana led GCU with a 74 (+2) score. The Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year was steady throughout with a team-high 16 pars in her round.
Courtney Vogel had GCU's second best round of the day with a 76. Vogel finished the day with one birdie and five bogies.
Alexis Linam and
Carolina Sandstrom both finished with rounds of 78. Linam finished with an eagle on the par-5 9
th hole to highlight the day for the Lopes.
Deanna Salvatori closed her round with a 37 on her final nine to finish with an 80.
No. 1 UCLA shot a 280 (-8) and leads the Regional after the first of three days. No. 26 Colorado, No. 16 Kent State, No. 4 Stanford and No. 32 Louisville round out the top five.
Round two begins tomorrow morning at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco.
