Round 1 Results
TUCSON, Arizona – The Grand Canyon women's golf team completed action on the first day of the Wildcat Invitational, hosted by Arizona at Sewailo Golf Club.
GCU finished the first day in 16
th place in the deep field, just five shots behind New Mexico State. This is the first spring tournament to feature the Western Athletic Conference rivals in the same field.
No. 1 UCLA is the tournament leader, followed by No. 21 Arizona, No. 7 Texas and Long Beach State.
GCU is led by
Siripatsorn Patchana who fired a first-round 68, good for 2
nd place tie. Patchana would finish with a 76 and 144 total. The freshman sits at Even par and is in 15
th place, ranking as GCU's top performer.
Deanna Salvatori finished with rounds of 73-77 while
Courtney Vogel finished with a 77-79.
Leleaga Meredith finished with rounds of 94-78 and
Alexis Linam came in with 82-91.
Lilia Vu, the No. 1 ranked player is in first place with rounds of 64-69, holding a five-shot lead over teammate Marie Galdiano.
