PUERTO VALLARTA – The Grand Canyon women's golf team finished the Hawkeye El Tigre Invitational in 10
th place on Saturday afternoon at El Tigre Golf and Country Club in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
GCU got a final round 73 from
Siripatsorn Patchana, good for a top-10 finish. The freshman had a smooth final round with two birdies, two bogeys and 14 pars to finish in a tie for 6th-place.
For the second consecutive tournament, the Lopes finished ahead of Western Athletic Conference rival New Mexico State. The Lopes finished with a 906 total, tying for 10
th place (Iowa). NM State finished with a 915 total, finishing in 12
th place. GCU will not see NM State again until the WAC Championships in April in Phoenix.
Deanna Salvatori finished with a 75 to finish just outside the top-20.
Courtney Vogel had her round up to -3 before finishing with a 77.
Wendy Monfort and
Carolina Sandstrom each shot 79. As an individual,
Alexis Linam shot a 74 to finish in the top-50.
GCU is back in action next weekend at the Red Rocks Invitational on March 24-25 at Oakcreek Country Club in Sedona.
