ROUND 2 RESULTS
LIHUE, Hawaii – The Grand Canyon men's golf team moved up into eighth place in the 20-team John Burns Intercollegiate on Friday at Wailua Golf Course.
Vinnie Murphy led the way for GCU, finishing witih a 5-under, 67.
Through two rounds of the three round event, the Lopes sit with a 574 total, tied for eighth place with No. 37 Saint Mary's.
No. 49 UNLV leads the way with a 555 total, followed by No. 4 Texas A&M (561), No. 42 Arizona (566), No. 28 North Carolina (567) and No. 31 BYU (570).
Filip Lundell shot a second round 73 and leads GCU with a two-day total of 141 in 15
th place. Murphy's 67 moved the senior into the top-20.
Matt McClung shot a 69 in round two, followed by
Jake Chanen with a 72.
Trevor Lampson added a 76, while
Max Sekulic shot a 75 as an individual.
GCU's round of 281 was 12 shots better than yesterday's first-round score. It was also tied for the fourth best team score of the day.
GCU is back in action on Saturday for the final round of the tournament.
