The Grand Canyon University men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up their weekend with a strong showing on the final day of competition at the 21
st Annual adidas/Steve Scott Invitational Saturday in Irvine, Calif. The two-day meet marks the final action for the Antelopes before the 2015 WAC Outdoor Championships.
Among NCAA athletes in the 200-meter dash, it was
Marcus Flannigan (21.48 seconds) and
Aaron Thurber (21.51 seconds) finishing second and third, respectively. Flannigan's time is the fastest time recorded in the WAC this season. Thurber sprinted to a second-place finish among collegiate sprinters in the 100-meter dash, clocking a time of 10.63 seconds.
Isaac Allanarem's time of 48.90 seconds was the second-fastest collegiate time in the 400-meter dash.
In the 110-meter hurdles,
LeSean Marks (14.91 seconds) and
Jahliell Wiltshire (14.99 seconds) finished seventh and eighth, respectively, among collegiate athletes. Marks also came in sixth in the 400-meter hurdles, posting a time of 53.23 seconds.
The quartet of
Anthony Phelps ,
Brandon Gonzalez,
Mykeal Ham and
Josh Ralston put together a season-best time of 3:13.20 en route to taking first in the 4x400-meter relay.
Cody Smith turned in a big mark in the pole vault, as the sophomore cleared a conference-best height of 4.75 meters on his way to finishing third among collegiate vaulters.
Akintunde Adeyemi jumped to a distance of 13.68 meters in the triple jump to come in fourth among collegiate competitors. Among NCAA athletes,
Timothy Ryan and Adeyemi placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the high jump.
On the women's side,
Andrea Olstead leaped to a third-place finish in the triple jump, posting a distance of 11.80 meters.
Aaliyah Cook and
Mally McGarity came in fourth and fifth, respectively, in the long jump.
Tope Williams raced to a fifth-place finish among collegiate sprinters in the 100-meter dash, clocking a time of 11.96 meters.
Alexandra Gilbert was the sixth collegiate finisher in the 400-meter dash with her season-best time of 56.36 seconds in the quarter mile.
Christine Miles was 10
th in the same race after finishing with a time of 57.42 seconds.
Emily Wilkinson was the eighth collegiate finisher in the 1500-meter run after accumulating a school record time of 4:36.15. The previous school record was 4:51.60.
Sydney Madrid was the ninth collegiate finisher in the 400-meter hurdles.

Brianne Kee,
Kevina Godfrey and Williams combined to put together the second-fastest NCAA 4x100-meter relay time, finishing with a time of 46.64 seconds.
