The Grand Canyon University men's and women's track and field teams split up to compete against some of the top talent from across the country in a pair of meets Friday in California. The Antelopes took part in both the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif., and the Bryan Clay Invitational, which was held in Azusa, Calif.
At the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays,
Josh Ralston raced to a 12
th place finish in the 400-meter dash, sprinting to a time of 47.62 seconds.
Aaron Thurber (10.54 seconds) and
Marcus Flannigan (10.79 seconds) both competed in the 100-meter dash, while
LeSean Marks (14.66 seconds) and
Jahliell Wiltshire (14.94 seconds) took part in the 110-meter hurdles. Marks also ran to a time of 53.73 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles.
Niels Theijs, Ralston, Flannigan and Thurber combined to take fifth in the 4x100-meter relay, accumulating a time of 41.03 seconds. Marks,

Mykeal Ham and Ralston took ninth in the 4x400-meter relay with their time of 3:15.30.
Competing in the Mt. SAC Relays/California Invitational decathlon on Wednesday and Thursday, freshman
Timmy Johnson turned in a record-setting performance, totaling a school record 6,704 points. En route to taking ninth among collegiate competitors, Johnson cleared a WAC-best height of 4.70 meters in the pole vault. Click

At the Bryan Clay Invitational,
Briana Myers was fifth among collegiate competitors in the 100-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 14.61 seconds.
Amanda Sims was the 10
th collegiate finisher in the 400-meter hurdles (1:03.33).
Tope Williams was the third collegiate finisher in the 100-meter dash, clocking a time of 11.89 seconds. She finished seventh among collegiate athletes in the 200-meter dash with her time of 24.71 seconds.
Jennifer Rolph cleared the bar at a height of 3.76 meters to finish fourth among collegiate competitors in the pole vault.
Kevina Godfrey leaped to the fifth-best collegiate mark in the long jump, recording a distance of 5.67 meters.
The quartet of Myers,
Brianne Kee, Godfrey and Williams turned in the fastest time in the 4x100-meter relay, collecting a time of 46.84 seconds.
Jude Olear was the top collegiate finisher in the triple jump, as the freshman leaped to a season-best mark of 14.86 meters. Olear's distance is the second-best mark in the WAC this season.
