In their home finale, the Grand Canyon University men's and women's swimming and diving teams picked up wins over visiting Western Athletic Conference (WAC) foe North Dakota Saturday at the Southwest Valley Family YMCA in Goodyear. The Antelope men prevailed with a 205-92 victory over UND while the GCU women bounced back from a one point defeat Friday to tally a win, 173-125.
"I am very proud of our women's team for the way they bounced back today," said head coach Steve Schaffer. "We took some time before the meet to take the opportunity yesterday's loss presented to talk about how a one point loss come down to just a few 10
ths or even 100
ths of a second and asked everyone to consider what they can do better to in their races to just go just that much faster to be able to touch out the other team."
"Our men's team continues to impress," said Schaffer. "A lot of the guys swam off events today and they still dominated the meet. We have a very tough last dual meet in a few weeks that should help sharpen us up for the WAC Championships next month."
During the meet's final break, the GCU seniors were honored for their hard work and dedication to the program. This year's graduating class includes:

"I always seem to get a little choked up on Senior Day presenting our graduating seniors at their last home meet," added Schaffer. "They are a wonderful group and have all made their own special mark on our team. We still have more work to do this season, but it's always emotional as we begin to see their time with us coming to an end."
