Finish Dual Season Wednesday at GCU Arena

Grand Canyon won 15 matches in two duals and improved to 13-5 on the season with victories over NAIA No. 5 Campbellsville (36-10) and host SIU-Edwardsville (33-6) at Vadalabene Center in Edwardsville, Ill., Sunday.

The Antelopes earned bonus points in six of seven wins over Campbellsville and in five of eight victories against SIUE.

At 174, Martin Fabbian won by fall in both matches. Freshman Austin Gaun picked up victories by major decision and technical fall at 184. Mike Hamel, at 149, recorded two major decisions. AJ Salazar (125), Lino Estrada (133) and Marcus Haughian (197) all went 2-0 on the day.

"The guys wrestled hard and had a pretty good day," said GCU coach R.C. LaHaye. "It was a good performance, we really stepped up (in our second match) against SIU-Edwardsville. It was a good effort from top to bottom."

The Antelopes finish the home and dual portion of their schedule Wednesday with a 6 p.m. match against Embry-Riddle at GCU Arena.
