The Grand Canyon University men's and women's swimming and diving teams were both named to the College Swimming Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America Team for Fall 2010.
The women earned a GPA of 3.42, while the men had a GPA of 3.14.
The Team Scholar All American award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The award is presented to teams achieving this standard in the fall semester and in the semester of the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships (Winter/Spring).
The College Swimming Coaches Association is the oldest coaches organization in America. In addition to Scholar All American Awards, the CSCAA recognizes All American Swimmers and Divers at the national championships every year.
The GCU swim teams are both coming off school-best second place finishes at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships that were held in Grand Junction, Colo. this past weekend. The ‘Lopes are off until the NCAA Championships, that will be held from March 9-12 in San Antonio, Texas.
