LA MIRADA, Calif. -- Grand Canyon's 15th ranked men's swimming team won all 11 events in a 148-39 dual meet victory over host Biola Friday.
Four individuals were two-time winners, including Ralph Herberg (Potsdam, Germany/Sportschule Potsdam), Johan Ivarsson (Sundsvall, Sweden/Sundsvall), Richie Krzyzanowski (Scottsdale, Ariz./Pinnacle) and Charlie Woodruff (Phoenix, Ariz./Central).
Herberg, an addition to the team at the beginning the semester, was a winner in the 200 IM (2:04.23) and 100 Breaststroke (1:00.82). Ivarsson was victorious in the 200 Freestyle (1:44.72) and 100 Backstroke (55.65). Krzyzanowski won the 100 Butterfly (54.50) and 500 Freestyle (5:02.06). Woodruff added victories in the 50 Freestyle (21.68) and 100 Freestyle (47.73).
Xavier Lopez (pictured, Goodyear, Ariz./Millennium), another newcomer at the semester, won the 1650 Freestyle (17:22.84).
Other wins came in the 200 Medley Relay (1:39.43) from the team of Ivarsson, Herberg, Krzyzanowski and Artem Tretiakov (Donetsk, Ukraine/Donetsk National University) and in the 200 Freestyle Relay (1:28.48) with the group of Ivarsson, Ben Hewitt (Sandy, Ore./Corbett), Woodruff and Tretiakov.
