Mosnia is in his second season as an assistant coach for the GCU men's soccer program in 2018.
Mosnia has an extensive coaching background including an 11-year stint as the head coach at Eastern Illinois University. He was hired at EIU, his alma mater, to replace now-GCU head coach, Schellas Hyndman, and went on to lead the Panthers to a 97-75-19 record in 11 seasons at the helm. Under his direction, Eastern Illinois claimed four Summit League Championships and he was the Coach of the Year four times.
Mosnia also possesses a USSF Class A coaching License as well as a Brazilian Coaching Diploma. Between 1983 and 1995, he served on the USSF Illinois coaching Staff as well as on the USSF Mid-West Olympic Developmental Coaching Staff and later joined the Georgia State Coaching School Staff to teach and license coaches.
Most recently, Mosnia was teaching and coaching soccer at Belton High School in Belton, Texas. His 12-year record at Belton was 211-59-23. He was selected District Coach of the Year six times, Super Centex Coach of the Year and TASCO Region Coach of the Year. Mosnia's teams won the District Championship nine times and were ranked fifth in the nation two times by ESPN-RISE.
In his playing days, Mosnia was a four-year letterman at Eastern Illinois. He captained the 1974 Panthers squad to a fourth place finish in the NCAA Division II Championship Tournament and competed in the soccer Senior Bowl. He went professional following his collegiate career, playing for the Chicago Sting of the North American Soccer League. He attended elementary schools in Italy and Canada before graduating from Mount Carmel High School in Chicago.
