AT A GLANCE
Leaders of the Mountain West and winners of four straight contests, Grand Canyon heads back on the road for a Saturday evening contest at UC Davis in Davis, California.
It is the first meeting between the Aggies and Lopes since 2014.
GCU has scored at least two goals in each of its past four matches, outscoring the opposition 9-4 in that span. The Lopes are the conference leaders in shots (201), goals (19), points (61) and assists (23) while second in goals allowed (14). The Lopes have not allowed two goals in a game since Sept. 12 versus nationally ranked UC Santa Barbara.
Lopes freshman Arnau Camaño won his third MW Freshman of the Week honor on Oct. 5, totaling two goals the week prior. Camaño is fourth in the nation in shot accuracy (.727) with his seven goals ranked 19th in the nation and first in the MW.
Senior midfielder Jorge Lopez already holds the program's Division I-era career record for assists and keeps adding to his tally, totaling eight this season. He is second in the nation in assists and is three back from fifth all-time in the GCU record book.
The Lopes notched double-digit shot totals in every game this season, ranking sixth nationally in shots per game (18.3) and shots on goal per contest (7.9). Lopez is first in the conference in shots per game (2.7) while Camaño's 2.0 shots per game rank second.
GCU is outshooting its opponent 201-107 this season, with the defense allowing fewer than five shots per game over its past three MW contests. The Lopes have 23 to its opponents' nine shots on target in conference play.
LAST TIME OUT
The Lopes won its fourth straight match and second straight at home in a 2-1 victory over San José State Oct. 4.
GCU juniors Alan Hermitte and Cruzeiro Cruz scored their first goals of the season, with Cruz's coming 14 seconds into the second half for an eventual game-winner.
Lopez, João Gonçalinho and Bildad Abonga each tallied an assist.
SCOUTING UC DAVIS
The Aggies are 1-6-4 overall and 1-1-1 in MW play, totaling four points in conference standings.
UC Davis is 1-1-2 over its past four games, defeating Utah Tech (2-0) and tying San José State (1-1) in that span.
