GCU looking to extend winning streak, sit 1st in MW standings
AT A GLANCE
- GCU won its first ever Mountain West mathup last Saturday at home and heads on the road for the first time in league play Wednesday at Utah Tech.
- For the second consecutive match, Arnau Camaño and Felix Oberwaditzer scored to help the Lopes earn 2-1 victories. Oberwaditzer's goals were game-winners, while Camaño has scored in three of his past four games.
- Oberwaditzer's efforts helped him earn Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week honors. The freshman accolade is the second straight.
- Senior Jorge Lopez made history in the win over UNLV, tallying two assists to move into first place in the GCU D-I era record book for careers assists. He now has 15, five back from fifth place all time. His six assists are tied for sixth nationally and lead the Mountain West. His efforts notched him Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week accolades.
- The Lopes rank top seven in the nation in both shots per game (4th/18.6) and shots per game (6th/7.9). GCU has double digit shots in every match this season with four double digit shot on goal matches.
- Camaño, who leads the Mountain West with five goals, is eighth in the nation in shot accuracy at 0.684. The Tona, Spain, native has 10 shots to eight shots on goal over the last four games.
- GCU has 15 points over its past two games, both resulting in wins. Seven of the team's 16 assists have occured over the last two games, led by Lopez with three.
- Oberwaditzer has scored back-to-back game winning goals, moving him 18th nationally and tied for first in the Mountain West.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Lopes defeated UNLV, 2-1, in its first ever Mountain West match last Saturday evening at GCU Stadium.
- Camaño scored the game's first goal in the eighth minute with the second coming via Oberwaditzer in the 58th, the eventual game-winner.
- The win was the second straight for GCU, who extended their double digit shot streak to nine games.

- The Trailblazers are 1-6-2 overall this season and hold a 0-0-1 in MW play.
- Utah Tech has tied each of its last two matches, inlcuding a 1-1 draw versus nationally ranked Utah Valley. They are 1-0 against common GCU opponents this season, defeating Sacramento State 1-0.
