Grand Canyon freshman forward
Junior Diouf contributed to wins in his first two collegiate games with seven points, including highlight-reel goals on social media that helped earn WACÂ Co-Offensive Player of the Week for the Senegal native.
Diouf totaled three goals and an assist on nine shots (five on goal) against Jacksonville and Cleveland State over five days. Diouf jump-started his GCU career with two goals in the final 10 minutes of the Lopes' 2-1 win against Jacksonville on Thursday night, finding the back of the net for the game-winner with 14 seconds to spare.
Diouf then found junior teammate
Allan Rosales in the second half of the Lopes' 3-1 win over Cleveland State on Monday night, when he added a goal in the 73rd minute with a spin-cycle move to score on a breakaway and cushion the Lopes win.
Diouf is tied for fourth in goals (three) and fifth in points (seven) across the Division I landscape.
The Lopes stay home to play Sacramento State at 7 p.m. Thursday in GCU Stadium.
