GCU staff returnee served last season as especial tactical coach
Grand Canyon head coach George Kiefer named Daniel de Oliveira as associate head coach of the men's soccer program.
De Oliveira previously served as Especial Tactical Coach last season, joining the squad in early October.
De Oliveira entered GCU with 20-plus years of coaching experience and coaching education. His international background includes having served as a head coach for multiple clubs in the Venezuelan Professional League, including Yaracuyanos FC, Metropolitanos FC, Estudiantes de Caracas FC, and head coach responsibilities with the Venezuelan U15 and U17 national teams from 2007 to 2010.
He also has head coaching experience with Arizona clubs, serving as associate head coach for Valley United in 2021 before being elevated to interim head coach in 2022. He most recently was on the Phoenix Rising FC Academy staff in 2023 and 2024.
De Oliveira played professionally for 10 seasons in the United States, Spain, Brazil, Central America and Venezuela with teams such as Deportivo Italia, Carabobo FC, Trujillanos FC, CD Luis Angel Firpo, CD Castellon and CD Almazora.
