GCU men's soccer head coach
George Kiefer has resigned his position to pursue other opportunities.
GCU Vice President of Athletics Jamie Boggs
GCU thanks Coach Kiefer for leading the program to a conference championship and a run to the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16. As a university, we are aggressive in identifying and hiring coaches across the country to build championship-caliber programs. We support Coach Kiefer in his personal decision to return to a region he considers home. With the support of the university and Lope Nation, we have won four conference championships, qualified for four NCAA Tournaments, and have been nationally ranked within the last eight seasons. We will continue to be aggressive in hiring coaches who will grow GCU's national success.

Coach George Kiefer
This was a very difficult decision for me, as my time at GCU has meant a great deal to me. The community has helped me grow closer to the Lord, and I will always be grateful for that. The chance to move to a place I consider home is one I could not turn down. GCU is very well positioned to support a nationally competitive men's soccer program, and we were proud to showcase that this season. I have no doubt that the Lopes will continue to be competitors in the national men's soccer landscape.
