Grand Canyon forward
Junior Diouf broke records on the field, and he continues to set new program heights off of it.
The freshman from Thies, Senegal, was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-America first team, one of two freshmen among the first, second and third teams.
Diouf's United Soccer Coaches All-America honor is the second in program history and the first to make the first team, joining Justin Rasmussen for his third-team accolades in 2021. He is also the first player to be named to the top squad in the WAC since Air Force's Tucker Bone in 2018.
The 6-foot-1 forward scored 18 goals and registered 42 points this season to set those GCU Division I-era program records. His 18 goals lead the nation, while his point total is tied for first with North Carolina State's Donavan Phillips and Indiana's Palmer Ault. Phillips is the only active player among the top 10 in goals with games left to play in 2025.
Diouf made headlines with a brace in the season opener against Jacksonville, scoring a game winner with 14 seconds left to give the Lopes their first win of the season. GCU's win total reached 14, the second most in the D-I era as the team advanced to the Sweet 16 for the program's deepest NCAA D-I Tournament run.
Doiuf's headlines include TopDrawerSoccer Player of the Year, MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist, WAC Offensive and Freshman of the Year, All-WAC first team and WAC All-Freshman Team.
